“(The righteous are those) who feed the poor, the orphan and the captive for the love of God, saying: ‘We feed you for the sake of God Alone; we seek from you neither reward nor thanks.” – Quran, 76:8-9
The proceeds of this campaign will help sustain, empower and protect the Refugees, Orphans and Needy in Ohio. It will help prevent and stop drugs, gangs and human trafficking (modern day slavery), through the programs and services listed below.
Ohio has been a home for the second largest Somali Refugee population (about 70,000) in the US for two decades. It has also been a home for refugees from Iraq and other countries. Majority of them are Muslims. Their stories are similar to our Syrian brothers and sisters that are escaping the civil war in their country. These brothers and sisters have been living under severe poverty situations for so long that their children have now become an easy prey for pimps, drug dealers, gangs and other criminals in the inner city.
As our heart bleeds for our Syrian, Palestinian, Burmese and other Muslims around the world and we do whatever we could to alleviate their pain. It is also incumbent upon us to take care of these refugees, homeless and needy people at home. We are responsible to save our daughters from being sold as sex slaves and our boys from being doped and incarcerated for the things that happen due to the negligence and the ignorance of the community.
Let's join hands now in saving thousands of lives, families and homes!
It's important to note that we serve all children and families that contact us regardless of their faith and race, but our focus remains on Muslims because they don't have sufficient services allocated to them at this point.
